The Fall Carlisle Collector Car Auction was consigned to capacity with 253 cars representing all genres and eras. The combined value of all the auction cars totaled more than $8 million. John Detrick, Carlisle Events CEO, commented on the auction results: -Even with an uncertain economy, in a hobby that's going through a cool period, Carlisle's Fall Auction generated sales that amounted to nearly $2 million as a 35 percent sell-through was achieved. One of our collectors who consigned numerous vehicles had a 58 percent sell rate. A lot has to do with unrealistic reserves on vehicles in the present economy. Carlisle touts the fact that they sell real cars at real prices. Research shows that other auctions recently have experienced similar results.
