2008 Carlisle Import-Kit/Replicar Nationals

Date: Friday, May 16th - Sunday, May 18th

For 2008 we have decided to feature all British cars rather than just one manufacturer. That's right, we want to see more MGs, Triumphs, Jags, Austin Healeys, TVRs, Minis and Land Rovers than ever before. We're hoping for a "British Invasion" of sorts by our friends from across the pond. If the turnout of Volvos this year is any indication we can expect an amazing display of England's finest in 2008.

As the name states, the show isn't all imports. This is also the largest gathering of kit cars in the United States with everything from Cobras to the new Manxster. You can also find vendors selling new kits in Building T as well as rare and one-off vehicles on the Show Field. If you are a firm believer that real cars are built not bought then this part of the show is definitely for you. Look for greater emphasis on kits and replicars beginning in 2008.

IKR has always been known for its laid back atmosphere but for those who don't like to just sit in a lawn chair IKR offers the SCCA Autocross and Driver's School. Held on our quarter-mile six-turn mini road course, the Autocross has been rapidly gaining in popularity and was actually a sell-out in 2007. Another entertaining activity that exploded with participation this year was the Dyno Challenge. Owners strapped their cars to the chassis dyno one after the other all day on Saturday to see who had the most horsepower at the wheels.
