See some of the best automobiles history has to offer. This is one of the most unique car shows in the US and Iowa because of it's location on the grounds of a historic 42-room mansion built in the late 1920's in the heart of Des Moines, Iowa. In it's 9th year the Salisbury Automobile Classic highlights the 100th anniversary of General Motors and the cars of the Billy Durant era. So far this year cars invited include a 1923 Columbia, 1927 Star Huckster truck, the 1949 Buick woody used in the 2000-2001 "Around the World in 80 Days" race from Paris to Beijing, the 1933 Nash used in the upcoming Johnny Depp film "Public Enemies and many more! The Salisbury Automobile Classic is a part of the larger Salisbury Classic Weekend that generates funds for the restoration, operation and preservation of the historic Salisbury House and it's historic artifact collection. The weekend's events include the Greater Des Moines New Car Show, Exhibitor's Driving Tour (with a stop at the private, world-renowned Albaugh collection of 119 cars in Ankeny, IA) and The Gatsby Gala roaring 20's dinner party
